Hallowe'en is too dang short, for all the time I spend looking forward to it and preparing for it.

First off, pretty much anything I might say about my costume and the general structure of the evening, Gustav has already said. Likewise, while I took a few pictures, most and probably the best ones are Gustav's.

My favourite part of hanging out at Becca's was, as you might expect, playing with her pets. At one point I pulled out my laser pointer to taunt the kitten, and while he did follow it with his eyes for a little, it was the dog who went nuts, chasing it all over, going completely berserk and having the time of his life. It was the cutest thing I've experienced in a long time.

Oh, and since I had found a white pumpkin, of all things, what could I make that would best take advantage of it? Why, the Stay-Puft o'Lantern, of course!

Edit: Gustav has pointed out that the entry in question is friends-locked, so I shall quote here:
"This Halloween was much fun. Far more subdued than previous years, but still enjoyable. It consisted primarily of just hanging out at Becca's house and giving candy to kids, then eating Chinese food and watching the Steelers. All while in costume. Sehr excellent.

So yes, as for actual Halloween, Val did not demand to be greened at daybreak, which was good, particularly since I was on an airplane at daybreak. She did, however, insist that I come and do her makeup while at work. This was a much easier task than 2003's Mouse (from ReBoot) costume, as it involved less surface area and a thinner layer of paint. This even proved Val's theory that ogres and humans have almost the same pigmentation, as the thin layer of green allowing the normal skin tone to still effect the outcome looked exactly like the color of the Shrek characters. The dress she and her mom made looked perfect, and the Official Fiona Wig looked appropriately correct. The ogre schnozz that I made for her really made the thing special, if I do say so myself. Just painting green wouldn't have seemed to fit the ensemble quite a well. As was, though, Val got tons of wonderful attention. Walking down Murray avenue after work, random strangers complimented her, little kids and adults gawked and squeed in delight, and even people in cars honked out their approval. I'm sure she felt on top of the world, and rightly so!"
I did, too.
(Also, for the record, I cut the tiara out of sheet metal. Yay for sharp-edged accessories!)

Kool!
